Description
Built at Darlington and completed in 2008, 60163 Tornado was the first new steam locomotive to be built in the United Kingdom since 92220 Evening Star in 1960. Currently operated by the A1 Steam Locomotive Trust on charter services across the UK rail network, Tornado even had a starring role in BBC’s Top Gear in April 2009 and in April 2017 became the first steam locomotive in fifty years to officially reach 100mph.
