Triumph speedtriple
OK people head scratching time. This fell out from my peco loco servicing cradle, had a bachmann 66 in it at the time but can't find anything missing from it. Other loco's I have are Hornby's 08, class 60 and 67 then Dapol's class68./media/tinymce_upload/1af417e2e6fac172f7d53e94d9e7977f.jpg
walkingthedog
What size is it. Almost definitely off a bogie I reckon. Or then again.
NWR-Gordon-4
I think it must be from a bogie, also. Have another good look at your Bachmann Class 66. These have many pieces like this, on the bogies. GNR-Gordon-
walkingthedog
Can you post a picture of it next to a 20p coin or similar to give an idea of size. Could be 2ft long as far as we know.
NWR-Gordon-4
That is s very good suggestion, WTD. 😀 Dies no no have to be a 20p coin. Could be any coin. We all know the scale of money. GNR-Gordon-
NWR-Gordon-4
I do honestly think this is from a Class 66. I am sure I recognise this from the bogies of my Bachmann Class 66 Stobart Rail “Eddie the Engine”. GNR-Gordon-
2e0dtoeric
Using cash money as a size reference doesn't always work. Different countries have different currencies, and the physical size of coins can vary. (No comment re the varying value!!)You can use an AA battery, or better still, a ruler, with the millimetre scale visible!
walkingthedog
Don’t think it was necessary to say that Jacob. I did say a 20p coin or similar.
96RAF
JacobYou have developed a fine art of stating the bleeping obvious at times (most). My advice is to engage brain some considerable time before engaging gob (or pen in this case).Your comments whilst entertaining to some (few) can be irksome to others (many).Rob
walkingthedog
Eric this is a UK web site. A UK coin is ideal. 😆
NWR-Gordon-4
I was only trying to help Triumph speedtriple to identify this piece, that has landed in their odds and ends box. 🤔 😢 Looks as if Ive done enough helping. GNR-Gordon-
walkingthedog
I know Jacob but I said a 20p coin or similar then you said it doesn’t have to be 20p. We all know that, as long as it is something we all recognise.
atom3624
Alongside any regularly used coin in good condition would be fine. For those more curious, you would simply have to 'Google' the specific dimensions, then return to see the piece alongside the coin of choice .... one would think. Triumph speedtriple
I think it must be from a bogie, also. Have another good look at your Bachmann Class 66. These have many pieces like this, on the bogies. GNR-Gordon-4Hi Gordon I have two 66's both EWS and I have looked very carefully at both as you think one would still have this bit still on it, but no. In the past I have removed the outer detail cage from the bogies and yes they are very detailed but its all moulding, brake detail, shock detail etc so the search goes on but thanksPeter
96RAF
I think it may have broken off Item 8 on the Class 08...Rob /media/tinymce_upload/b7f34a0155542839adad4c1babd12d6c.png
Triumph speedtriple
Thanks RAF but still no I think. OK pictures for scale this time and the back of it which clearly shows a lug which needs a hole to fit into I think. One good thing thats come from all this is while checking my Dapol 68 I saw a small shock had come of the front wheels set, found it and its back on./media/tinymce_upload/8a0925887bbd81040a677a936164da08.jpg/media/tinymce_upload/d6ff9e4bac8530ed159ab9110096ff11.jpg/media/tinymce_upload/bbccd54e87ca9a008decf96c89a6038f.jpg/media/tinymce_upload/06806bcf2888fcff36d5cf70af963295.jpg
Fishmanoz
Someone asked the scale of coins. Using Milligan notation from another thread, they are around 10p to the shilling, at least for most of you lot over there. Or for older forum members, 12 pennies to the shilling.
