For the one way mission to Mars that is being looked at in the near future I was asking about the possibility of going along but only if there was an app on my Windows phone that could get me back through a hyper space portal in five minutes.

Probably not going to happen as apps for Microsoft phones are not being developed now and won't be in future either.

Shame!

And neither would I like to end my days on the red planet... fascinating as the trip would be.

I feel sorry for you Fishy with the missed calls and broken ringer... the other apps mentioned are pretty standard in Aus though aren't they?

Would have thought you could do your own apps AC?  And yes, my apps are pretty standard around here and the calls work outside ok.  But I hear the Vogons are still working on solving the connectivity problem whilst in the hyperspace by-pass. Once they’ve done that, the Mars trip should be pretty straightforward, even with a W10 phone.

and thanks for all the fish

Great news... if you're gonna hop on board one of the Vogon craft just don't forget to take a towel - and the Guide of course!

And... 'Here I am, brain the size of a planet...' yep, my own apps. I dabbled but got a little tired and I much prefer to build web sites... hey ho.

Just got to go and pick up our ship fishy... The Heart of Gold... formerly 'owned' by Hotblack Desiato.

With its Infinite Improbability Drive we should only need our struff outlined above just in case the Space Cops find us. And they're always having a bad day so are forever in a meeaaannn mood.

BTW... should we just answer all questions on here with the answer 42?

It IS the answer to life, the universe and everything after all - well, according to Deep Thought anyway.

Although I am a great Microsoft fan, I rapidly gave up with Windows on a phone. On my second Samsung with Android now, and it is great. This forum certainly works OK on my Galaxy tablet. Not tried it on the phone.

Would you like me to read some of my poetry now? "Ode to a lump of putty I found in my armpit."

Yes, I completely agree with you, Triumph Owner. I am a Microsoft and / or Windows fan too. They are great as computers. As smartphones, they are not so great. I gave up on them too. I found mine had a mind of it's own. Did nothing I wanted it to do and everything it wanted to do. It drove me mad! Laughing

Also, accessing this forum on it was joke, but it was not entirly the phone's fault, as I don't find this forum to be very user friednly on tablets and phones. Even on my very old iPad and my very recent iPhone, the forum is not well displayed. You can't post a comment very well on the topics and editing a comment is even more tricky.

Sadly, there's no mobile version for these forum's, by Hornby Hobbies. There needs to be, as I find the best way to use the forum's is on a computer, which is not always ideal to use, but it in the sense of how the forums function. Hornby Hobbies, please give us a mobile version of theese forums, which will make life so much easier when using a phone and tablet, to access these forum's! Smile

I recently bought this MotoE4 Android phone. Using the Forum works just like the pc & posts photos. Camera is pretty good. Connects to car Bluetooth.

Do you know who I am?..........No, but I'm sure Matron does!
