Mmmm.. I've seen a set advertised (with pics) and am assured they are original Hornby, but like you, I can't find any reference. Thanks anyway

I didn't know Pendolino's existed in a blue O2 livery. I know about the newer Alstom liveried Pendolino's, but not about any in O2. Will have to search for them.

No, Hornby don't produce tehm in this livery. I wonder if they ever will?

I just tried to find a Virgin Trains Pendolino in O2 livery on Google and my search was very unsuccessful. Are you sure didn't have a bad dream last night, about an O2 liveried Pendolino?! Laughing Wink Smile

FT, I'm just joking about the dream part, but seriously, where have seen this? Living in a area where the Pendolino's don't run, means I barely ever see them in real life, sadly, due to them being one of my favourite high speed trains. So when I go to part of the country where they do run and I see one or more, I'm very happy when I do! Laughing

Last time I travelled in a Pendolino (not long after their introduction) the tilt failed at Tebay, incurring a ten-minute delay whilst permission was obtained to proceed with the tilt turned off. While we were awaiting permission I asked the driver if this happened often?

A dour Polmadie man of many years experience, he replied "Back in the days of the 87s when one of those failed it was something to talk about back at the depot; now when one of these doesn't fail it is something to talk about".

No WTD, that's the Alstom livery one. Alstom is the manufacturer of the real life Pendolino's and the second batch of the trains they built, had that additional black stipes on, along with the Alstom logo, so you know which trains are from the first and second batch. The first batch are exactly, the same, minus the black stripes and the Alstom logos.

Fair enough it’s just that it is blue and the logo looks like part a stylised O with the top of a 2 in it. Laughing

Yes, I see what you mean. I have no clue what FT means by an O2 Pendolino though. The Pendolino was given a new white livery last year, which I ahve yet to become fond of, but it has nothing to do with O2.
