Longvallon
Hello,I'm a huge fan of Hornby and Jouef. I'm very happy to be here. But...I have a question:I can't find the real track plan of the Hornby R8011 trakmat. Could you help me ?Many thanks in advance for your help.Chris from France
Chrissaf
All the track parts needed (in addition to the basic set oval) to create the old R8011 track plan are listed here:https://www.modelrailwaysdirect.co.uk/old-track-mat/
The son of Triangman
Personally I would ditch the trakmat track plan, those 1st radius curves won't be suitable for a lot of the main range locos as a lot require 2nd radius as a minimum. It's worth investing in a good track plans book.
gilbo2
WOW! Looking at the Youtube video in the first post, what an impressive layout which started out from the humble track mat!

Kevin Hodges
That layout (in the youtube clip) is one of the best small layouts I've ever seen. I love the 2 old codgers nattering beside the shed. One sitting on a barrel. Very realistic and atmospheric. I've done a screen capture and I'm using it as my laptops background/wallpaper Great work. The same chap has gone on to create an even bigger layout using the same scenery techniques I noticed. Great job.

But in the real world, it should work fine.
Kevin Hodges
I sometimes find that if you delete the 'offending' piece of track, then add it again, it all links up. But as you said, I reckon that will work regardless. Really good work. Great layout. I like all the Hornby Trakmat layouts.
LongvaIIon
If someone wants to use my track plan to build its own layout, go for it !
The son of Triangman
Unless you are running old UK made models or short wheelbase locos, I would ditch the R.605 curves as a lot of locos that are China made won't run on 1st radius.
