Can we stop drivelling on about this - it is what it is until it gets fixed. All the carping on about it will not get it fixed any quicker.

I would lock this thread if I could but I can’t - another whinge.

Next logical action is to delete the whole topic as it has been reported and is being dealt with.

It appears that as of 2:10 PM Today the temporary 'Cookies Acceptance' pop-up has now been replaced with the official Hornby version. So far, in my testing, the pop-up has only needed a single 'Accept All' click to be permanently relegated out of sight.

If oddities are still noticed with the replacement, then it may be just Hornby admin / developers tinkering and testing and should hopefully stabilise in the medium term.

The odd shaped thing with three green dots screen bottom right corner is part of the fix and once your choices are made and saved then you can ignore it.

Yes, it appears to be fixed. It is even a much better looking pop up. So they have done a good job.

@RAF96

Many thanks to Hornby for the much improved cookie solution (just in case they see this message). Smile

Hopefully it will be obvious to everyone that this is an image of a cookie! (showing where to click if you want to modify your choices). Smile

Toothpaste is 1:1 perfection... but for models rule #1 applies!

Unfortunately, for me at least, the cookies pop-up has been replaced by another, even larger and mid-screen, exhorting me to subscribe for marketing emails.  Having been on the forum for around 10 minutes, I have had to dismiss it 7 times, there not being a "No, thank you" option.

If the pop-up Window you are describing is the one I think you are describing. That Window pop-up first appeared months ago, long before this current pop-up issue surfaced. In my case, I closed it down (I can't remember now what button I pressed) and it never reappeared again. I could probably force it to re-appear if I go into my Firefox browser settings and delete all my Hornby stored cookies, but my system is stable at present.

Have you tried clicking the 'Cookie Icon' in the bottom right hand corner of the screen and deselecting the 'Marketing' option, then saving the changes .... see screen captures below from a Windows 10 PC. No guarantee that this will sort out your particular issue, but it might.

Thank you, Chris. It just goes to show you are never too old to learn!  I had obviously seen the icon there but did not realise it did anything!  But unfortunately, the 'Marketing' option slider is already in the lefthand (off?) position as shown in your screenshot.  Never mind - there are more important things to deal with - I can live with it if it persists.  Perhaps the boffins at Hornby could add a 'Decline' option at some point?
