Bigskybirds
I have just purchased a new Hornby Castle R3301 but sadly the smoke box door darts are missing and not in the the box. I have tried Hornby and Peters Spares but no luck so far. Nairnshire Models do brass darts but that would need a hole drilling in the door which I prefer not to do and also becuase I do not have the tools to do that sort of work.Does anyone know where I may obtain some plastic darts that can be glued on the smoke box door? Thanks.
walkingthedog
To be honest if it is new it should be replaced by the retailer. You could end up damaging the door with glue. It is far better to fix a brass one. Small drill bits and drills are not expensive and well worth buying. In fact they are a must for railway modelling. Bigskybirds
@WTD Thanks for replying, the R3301 was the last one and Hornby do not have stock to replace or repair. Due to poor eyesight I would not attempt drilling it would only make matters worse. These days I am a collector and no longer a modeller.
Bigskybirds
After more online searching I found some white metal ones at RT Models that may do the trick.
