SThe Engine Shed - Decorations Galore: The Sequel

Administrator

925 posts

In The Engine Shed this week, the team take a look at a number of Decoration Samples of upcoming and highly-anticipated models, including the 4MTs, Q1 and 8F. Plus, there’s some 3D renders of the Princess Coronation Class!

The BR Std 4MTs look marvellous. I especially love the BR Green, I believe the BR Green livery was never produced by Hornby? Wish I could've bought it, and though there's something actually called a money plant, it sadly doesn't actually grow money.

The Q1's look quirky as ever.

The highlights of this week's "The Engine Shed" blog has to be the Hitachi IEP Class 800 and the LMS Duchess Class. The Class 800 IEP was a quite far out of budget, however I've managed to pre-order an LMS Duchess just now... more specifically R3555 BR Red "Sir William Stanier FRS". I am eagerly awaiting it's arrival.

Thanks for the amazing blog yet again!

Make sure to tune in next week as we are expecting some exciting decoration samples for some new tooled items and we may even have a running sample for you as well! Post permitting of course… any guesses as to what they might be?

Next week? Are we getting a special blog or did you'll mean week after next? My guesses are:-

- Running sample of the LMS Duchess Class or Class 800 IEP

- Decoration sample of the LMS Duchess and/or SE&CR H Class

- I've been eager for many weeks to see this, so don't mind me. First tooling sample of the Class 87

Cheers!

Jeremiah.

All this new stuff has given me impetus to get my layout built at long last.  So far Clan Line and Royal Mail and an S15 have been scuttling backwards and forwards in the storage yards, testing my track laying and wiring, Work has now progressed to the engine shed and station areas.  The Q1 and the Hs are definately earmarked for the layout.

Green trains are best!

Sadly the class 800 is far too modern for my collection (I keep telling myself). But it looks so so goodCry

They have already had a running sample of the Duchess. Might be a decorated running sample of course.

Oh yes! Completely forgot. I'm so used to seeing Hornby shows us the development from the early stages.

Having re-read that, I think a decorated sample will be either a SE&CR H Class or LMS Princess Coronation Class (judging by the edited images that are now showing online).

As for a possible running sample I'll say Class 800 IEP or Class 87.
