I am not rejoining. Don’t want the loco, do want  10% discount.

I wont be rejoining either. The 'free' loco is no good to me but the 10% discount was. I dont need an H class so no incentive. I dont think Hornby know what market they are aiming at.

There is only one 'market' Hornby are aimng at, that's us.........if the 10% discount for direct sales was viable they would continue with it but considering the cost of staff to handle the orders and payments, warehousing to hold stock, packaging and posting the overhead is too great.........better to turn stock around as soon as received from China to the retailers and for them to discount to us which they normally do, usually around 15%........so better all round for Hornby reducing their overhead and us for larger discounts..........I joined the 'Club' for the loco (present for g/son) and magazine..........HB

Do you know who I am?..........No, but I'm sure Matron does!

Enjoy HB. Think I might have joined if it had been a different club loco. Already have an 'H'. I would still rather have a £10 voucher than the 0-4-0 loco.

What do you think of the new Club, RDS? The same as the old one, better, worse?

I think that might be a better question asked in a years time Jacob.

Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away

Don't know why they don't get Hornby Magazine to do this for them.  They seem to have an ever closer relationship and Hornby Mag mail out issues every month.  The content of the magazine would likely be much better, if written by proper writers, than it has been in the past and mailing out the start-up packages would be fairly simple I would have thought.  There must be a cost benefit there if only in postage rates especially abroad.

Good point, but what if you want the magazine but don’t want to be a member or would they need two versions?
