Description
To obtain the best from the Hornby Digital system it is recommended that all points are made ‘live’ by attaching 2 x R 8232 DCC Electric Point Clips to each point.
Point clips are already fitted to the points included in the Hornby Digital sets, however, twenty additional clips are supplied in this pack.

These clips have certainly made a difference to my layout and they are capable of powering all of my track. The only problem is that it is quite hard to get them into the points. But overall i am very impressed with them and it has definatly made my layout better.

Point clip current carrying capacity.
Whilst these clips are handy for carrying current across a set of points to make a further track length fully live it is not recommended to rely solely upon them if the track past the points is extensive. In such a case the use of dropper wires is a better approach as the use of clips to carry a heavy current will make them hot and this heat can damage plastic parts of the track. Useful to power individual sidings but care should be taken if they are the sole provider of power to a wider range of track.
