LIVE at Model Rail Scotland 2017
Hello and welcome to this special edition of The Engine Shed, coming to you live from Model Rail Scotland 2017 in Glasgow. Despite the efforts of Storm Doris to disrupt our plans (flying here on Thursday was an experience!), the Hornby stand is up and running and already packed out with visitors.
This edition is going to be a bit different to our usual format as we're going to be updating the blog throughout the weekend, as The Engine Shed team scour the exhibition for interesting pics and news - almost a digital scrapbook. You can also follow what we're up to on Facebook and Twitter.
If you're coming to the show, come and say hello on the Hornby stand - you might even end up on the blog!

Saturday 25th February
Well we are back and Day 2 has been busy to say the least. Model rail fans flocked into the hall in their droves, eager to get up close to the spectacular layouts on display, and they weren't alone! We too couldn't resist a walk around to see some of the fantastic modelling on display.
We took our video with us also to capture a few of the layouts in action. Take a look at the video below:
IC82 is in the building!
Also today, we were privileged enough to be visited by YouTube legend - IC82. Will took his viewers on a tour of the Hornby stand which he broadcast live on Facebook, take a look below to see him in action.
Sunday 26th February
As the final day of Model Rail Scotland draws to a close, it's time for our final update from the show. We've had an absolute blast here at Model Rail Scotland, so much fun in fact that updating you here in The Engine Shed has been tough as we couldn’t tear ourselves away from all the model rail fans that have come to chat with us.
It has been wonderful to speak with lots of you about potential future projects and give you updates on the Princess Coronation, Class 87 and our Hitachi models (the Hitachi model incidentally was particularly well received and we are very grateful for all of your kind comments) as well as all manner of things. Paul and Edd are off to drink a hot drink and sooth their throats so we have put together some of our highlights from the past three days.
We will be visiting more shows throughout the year (next stop Ally Pally) so check out our events page for all the information about where we’ll be up and down the country.
Until next time, here's a look at some highlights from a fantastic weekend at Scotland’s premiere model rail event.
Thanks to everyone who's been involved in such a great weekend, the tireless Hornby team, the Model Rail Scotland team, our fellow exhibitors, Will from IC82, and Storm Doris for not dumping too much snow on Glasgow. Thanks for reading & happy modelling!
