Built at Crewe in 1938 as the last of the streamlined 'Coronations', Duchess of Hamilton entered service on September 10th.
At the same time, the LMSR had accepted an invitation from the organisers of the World's Fair in New York to send a streamlined train out to the exposition and as the newest of the 'Coronations', 6229 was selected, the name and numbers being swapped between 6229 Duchess of Hamilton and 6220 Coronation.
Hornby is a household name and is famous as the UK's brand leader in the model railway hobby with its high quality 00 gauge (1:76) models and accessories.

a definite improvement, but not sure about the colour
The duchess arrived in the post this morning and the detailing is amazing, I love the little "winged messenger" lamps that are supplied for us to fit. She's also much smoother and generally more subtle. However I have two criticisms the colour is quite dark - more maroon than crimson assuming and not shiny enough to much the original in the National Rail Museum. Also where the retooled coaches for her?
