ColinB
Does anyone know what the goo is that Hornby use to stick wires to the loco chassis. I have tried insulating tape, duck tape, silicon rubber and superglue but none of it is suitable, normally falling off in the case of tape. So I just wondered what else I could use. Chrissaf
Could it be stuck with hot glue sticks. Certainly meets the 'sticky gunge' description..In a factory situation, hot glue would be easy to apply with the right factory production tools, provide very tacky surfaces that flow easily around wires and dries quickly and solidifies as it rapidly cools down. In a domestic situation I have used my 'Hot Glue' gun for numerous model making tasks, but not yet had a need to glue down wiring, but I think it would do it very well. morairamike
For me a small piece of BluTac works. Wash hands before handling or wear clean thin gloves plastic medical type will keep the BluTac clean.Clean the area with a degreaser wipe or IPA. Stick the piece or pieces onto chassis or motor and then bed wires into it/them with a small screwdriver. Work the BluTac over the wires.Hornby use a black version to hold motors into mounting bracket but BluTac works well..
Seacommander
I use Scotch or 3M double sided tape to hold down all my wiring in locos and underneath the baseboard of my layout. It is also excellent for securing modules in locos or other rolling stock.

atom3624
I changed to using black tak for fitting lamps, brass nameplates, etc ... works well. Nameplates? Yes, a merest 'smudge' which you spread out to cover the extremities without lifting off obvioiusly - works great. Al.
