Join us for a journey through the history of Britain's best-loved toys

Featuring rare products from the Hornby, Scalextric, Airfix and Corgi archives. Track the history of Hornby’s iconic model trains from Frank Hornby’s early home-made toys in sheet metal, through the development of Hornby ‘O’ gauge and Hornby-Dublo.

Don't miss the spectacular Model Railway and Scalextric layouts, the Hornby Retail Shop offers an extensive range of Hornby, Scalextric, Airfix, Humbrol and Corgi products.

The Hornby Visitor Centre is open every day, from 10am – 4pm (October – March) and from 10am – 5pm (April – September) with free entry to the Shop and Café.







We'd like to say a BIG thankyou to all of our customers who helped us raise a whopping £800 towards Cancer Research at our charity Fun Day. We would also like to give a big thank you to Juicy Booths In Kent & Pretty Soon for attending and making the day great. Also a big thanks to The Theatre Royal Margate, Ivor Thomas Amusements, Powell-Cotton Museum & Thorley Taverns for kindly donating raffle prizes.












We're proud to announce that the Hornby Hobbies Visitor Centre is now an accredited Public Learning Destination for Kent Children's University™, and can issue Learning Credits for participating children's Passports to Learning.

The accreditation shows that our methods for inspiring and educating children and young people meets with the Quality Assurance process of National Children’s University™ Trust. Kent Children’s University™ (KCU) is part of an international charity that provides 5 to 14 year olds with access to exciting and innovative CU Learning Activities and experiences outside the normal school day. They reward children’s participation in voluntary learning activities that will develop their skills and raise aspirations for the future.

A team from the Hornby Hobbies Visitor Centre will be taking part in the Pretty Muddy Race for Life at  Mote Park, Maidstone on 10Th July, raising money for Cancer Research UK.

You can support the team  by donating via https://www.justgiving.com/sandiejohnson171 - any donations large or small will be greatly appreciated!

We also have competitions running instore, and are holding a fun filled fundraising day on Tuesday 31st May so come along and enjoy the fun!! And We promise to post pictures after the ‘Mud Filled’ event...
