In the spring of 2010 the renowned train operator East Coast made railway history when it launched a new “Flying Scotsman” express train service to operate between Edinburgh, Newcastle and London. Departing Edinburgh, Waverley each weekday at 05.40, stopping once at Newcastle and from there non-stop to London arriving at 09.40, the service achieves a running time of just 4.00 hours. This Hornby train pack includes a “Flying Scotsman” Class 91 and DVT together with 2 Mk.4 coaches each resplendent in the corporate colours of East Coast trains.
