Hornby uses the DEMU Showcase to launch the new Mk3 DVT!
Hornby are pleased to announce the introduction of the new Mk3 DVT which will not only be available as a solo model but will also be included in the remarkably striking EWS Managers Train Pack!
The new Hornby Mk3 DVT model produced totally from "scratch" will make its High Street appearance in September of this year and promises to please many model enthusiasts who have had to run their Class 90 or indeed Class 86 hauled passenger stock devoid of a suitable DVT.
Initially there will be two solo DVT models available and will carry the liveries of "Virgin Trains" and "One".
"These new Mk3 DVTs will fill an important gap in our passenger rolling stock range", commented Simon Kohler of Hornby, "and this is one piece of rolling stock that I know will please many modellers and of course over time it will not just stop with the "Virgin" and "One" liveried models!"
And Simon is not wrong; accompanying the launch of the new DVT will be a special train pack representing the strikingly liveried EWS Managers Train.
This pack will consist of the silver EWS "Royal Diamond", Class 67, Mk3 Open coach and Sleeper car suitably liveried and of course the silver EWS Mk3 DVT. To complete the train the appropriate Mk3 Buffet Car will appear early in 2010. "I am really pleased that at last we can add this superb train to our already impressive train pack collection" said Simon, "and I am even more pleased that the Buffet Car that will complete the "set" will be the appropriate AJ1B (RFB)."
The DVT was officially unveiled at the 2009 DEMU Showcase held at the Bretby Conference Centre at Burton on Trent on the 6 June. Again Simon commented, "What better place to announce such an eagerly awaited model than the DEMU Showcase and I am really very grateful to those responsible for the show and providing Hornby with such a prestigious venue for the official unveiling."
